Nature Club Launches at St Aloysius College
with Funding Support from Sabzgaman Beski

A new chapter for outdoor learning

This September, Growing Green launched a new Nature Club at St Aloysius College, replacing the school's Forest Club with a broader focus on the school's green spaces and biodiversity. The launch follows two years of work transforming the school's woodland from an unused, inaccessible area into a thriving space for outdoor learning.

From Forest Club to Nature Club

Since January 2025, Growing Green has worked with the school to clear litter and debris, create pathways through the woodland, and establish clearings and seating areas, improving access while retaining ecological value. A Forest Club launched in March 2025 ran until Easter 2026, led by a qualified outdoor learning practitioner and attracting an average of eight pupils per session.

Building on that success, the new Nature Club opened with an introductory assembly at the start of term and officially launches on 24th September 2026, led by newly appointed Nature Club Leader Isabel Davies. Growing Green's involvement has increased to three hours per session, helping embed the club more closely within school life.

What's Next

The aim is to increase student engagement with nature, encourage greater use of the woodland and other outdoor spaces, and build lasting links between outdoor learning and the school's curriculum.
